The readings focussed on Jesus’ conversation with Nathaniel about becoming a disciple. You can hear the talk here John 1_43-51
One of the things that Phillip said to Nathaniel when they were talking about Jesus was ‘come and see’ and that is a challenge to us today. To ask those who don’t think anything good can come out of church or from christians to come and see for themselves. That also puts pressure on us to be those who embody Jesus in all that we are and do.
For the message of Epiphany is that God is with us, here on earth, not somewhere else in some kind of ethereal heaven. God’s home is with us, here and now, and we should be those who live in that light.
