2nd November 2014 – Isaiah 30:1-18

Rodney Shotter was our preacher this Sunday and his theme was ‘Battling Mistrust and Unbelief’.

Despite being let down by King Hezekiah, Isaiah wanted to reassure the people of Israel that God was trustworthy and that they needed to be patent and wait for his salvation.

There are three promises concerning this in the passage:

Verse 15: “In quietness and trust is your strength.”

Verse 18: “Blessed are all  who wait for him!”

Verses 20-21 ‘Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes will you see them. Whether you turn to your right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
